Listen to the call of the sea. MOLODEZH ESTONII
Not long ago, a new album from the Postmortem band - "The Call of the Sea" - went on sale. To be honest, after the last concert, I got the impression that the guys got tired and began to treat music with a chill. This circumstance worried me very much, but, believe me, I was worried in vain. The beauty and density of the sound is amazing. And everything is very easy to listen to. It looks like the sea: the strength of the storm and the peace of the calm. The music matches the lyrics, which make us think about our lives. Unfortunately, the bass guitar is very hard to hear on this album. But this does not diminish the power, and the sea continues to call.
The history of the Postmortem begins in March 1991. Concert activity, however, only since 1993 (debut - March 8, club "326"). In 1996, Postmortem recorded its first album, "Bloody Justice Comes..." Over the long years of the group's existence, there have been more than one or two lineup changes. Today Postmortem is: Sergei Shelepov - guitar, vocals, Alexander Kobzar - lead guitar, Dmitry Potekhin - bass, Denis Shelepov - drums. After listening to "The Call of the Sea" I met with the leader of Postmortem - Sergei Shelepov.
- Sergei, do you think it was worth starting a musical activity at all? - Of course, it was worth it. Without music, perhaps we would turn into a faceless mass.
- In the recent past, the group changed its composition. How did this influence the music? - All changes are for the better.
Where do the ideas for lyrics come from? - From life, I mean the negative, dark side of it.
- You are an English-speaking team, do your listeners really speak English enough to understand the texts? - Anyone who is interested knows and understands...
- If you were now at the origins of your activity, what style would you choose? - TRUE JUSTICE BLOODY DEATH METAL! Do we really look like traitors?
- Do you still have the desire to become team No. 1 or are you already content with little? - We are already the band number 1 in Estonia! The new album is the best proof of this.
- I wish success to the entire Postmortem band, we will wait for your next albums.
